I am the father of three boys, a husband, and a former journalist with a Bachelor’s Degree from Chico State.

The quick and dirty history of Diverted Comics is simple. I left the journalism field in 2017 for myriad reasons, and this was meant to be a way to keep writing and putting my degree to use.
But it is hard to make money that way. So I eventually started selling my comic book collection, both as a means of clearing out space and as a way to bring in some extra cash into the budget.
For the past three years, I have focused on growing the retail and eCommerce side of things and have not written more than a few words every few months.
I want to change that.
The machine is oiled well enough that I think I can now fit more creative endeavors into my workflow. And I plan to use this site, at least partially, for that very purpose.
I don’t have a planned writing schedule. Nor do I have a set plan for the content that I will produce. I do plan to make sure it is fun and fulfilling for me. I don’t want it to feel like a burden or a bother.
Because, you see, I began writing as a child for the same reason I read comics: I loved it.
So let’s see if I can put this whole adulthood thing aside for a bit every once in a while and find that child-like fascination again.
