Coffee and a Comic was founded on a deeply personal experience that shaped the motivation of our founder, Jeff. When Jeff learned of his mother’s diagnosis of lung cancer, he found himself struggling to cope with the overwhelming emotions that came with the news. Seeking solace, he turned to the calming and therapeutic combination of coffee and comics.
Making it a daily ritual to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a comic, Jeff found that it helped him to find a sense of peace and enjoyment in life. However, his mother’s condition worsened, and she lost her battle to lung cancer on May 24th, 2022.
It was this experience that inspired Jeff to start Coffee and a Comic as a way to share this ritual with others who may be going through difficult times and looking for a way to find some joy and happiness in their lives. So, at Coffee and a Comic, we not only celebrate the joy of reading comics and enjoying a great cup of coffee, but we also honor the memory of Jeff’s mother and the inspiration that led to the creation of this company.
