SEASONS #1
“Seasons #1” is an exciting new ongoing series from Image Comics, set to debut on January 15, 2025. This double-length premiere issue is written by Rick Remender, with art by Paul Azaceta and colors by Matheus Lopes.
The story revolves around the Seasons Sisters – Summer, Winter, Spring, and Autumn – who are the daughters of the world-renowned Seasons Detectives. Ten years after their parents’ mysterious disappearance, the sisters find themselves facing a sinister threat in the form of a wicked carnival that arrives in town.
The narrative focuses on Spring, the youngest and often overlooked sister, as she attempts to save her siblings and stop the carnival’s malevolent influence. The carnival, led by an eldritch ringleader, offers visitors a glimpse into their deepest desires, but at a terrible cost – each attendee must leave a piece of themselves behind.
Rick Remender, known for his work on titles like “Black Science” and “Deadly Class,” describes the series as a blend of whimsical horror and heartfelt storytelling. He mentions drawing inspiration from the works of Miyazaki, Windsor McKay, and Tintin to create a unique and captivating world.
Paul Azaceta, the artist for the series, expresses his excitement about the project, stating that it has pushed him to explore new artistic directions.
The first issue will be available with multiple cover variants, including special incentive covers by artists like Jordi Lafebre, Kent Williams, and Wes Craig.
“Seasons #1” promises to deliver a compelling mix of fantasy, horror, and family drama, making it a highly anticipated release for comic book fans in early 2025.
